IMAGINATION IS

THE SPARK THAT
IGNITES THE FIRE
OF CREATIVITY

Our desire is to see lives changed and the eyes of our children opened to see doors they never knew existed. Every child deserves exposure to what life has to offer – and the arts are the pathway we have chosen to lead them to and through those doors.

Within them they have the power to push innovation, to inspire, to discipline, to produce leadership, to grow self-esteem; all while expanding the imagination beyond what they think is possible.

89% of Americans say the arts should also be taught in out-of-school programs in the community.

Sparks United is a program dedicated to inspiring children to develop a healthy and balanced lifestyle, creative intuitions, mental agility, and social fluency in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our enrichments are joyfully chosen to provide exposure to all aspects of the arts. Our instructors are not only talented in these fields outside of the classroom, but passionate about instructing the next generation on how to pursue what ignites the spark of creativity within them.

From classic art and theatre to modern day podcast and journalism, Sparks United strives to provide a high quality experience for every child. Our selection of enrichments continues to grow as we learn more about our kids and the world around them.

Below you will find our current enrichment classes:

ENRICHMENTS

bringing the goodness

YOGA EXTREME

Although not a “traditional” arts class, students gain understanding through stretching and stability, speed and agility drills, body weight exercises. Every class closes out with meditation that focuses on positive mindsets.

JOURNALISM

First, students are learning how to safely and securely have an online presence. This class helps kids and their families build their YouTube channel. Conversational skills are developed while students also learn the art of disagreeing with other opinions without being disrespectful.

PIANO

Students learn critical thinking, math skills, perseverance, discipline, and soft skills while exploring the wonder of a new tool.

ART

Students study form, drawing, and painting as they express themselves while simultaneously learning and studying the classics.

CULINARY

Students learn the invaluable skill of being able to prepare a healthy and affordable meal for themselves and others through guided practice. They also learn food safety and are introduced to the fundamentals of culinary arts.

PODCAST

Students learn interview skills ranging from asking in-depth questions to how to process topical discussions. They are also taught how to publish audio recordings online and we hope to develop a Sparks United Podcast in the future.

DRAMA

From co-writing plays to creating stage settings, students are introduced to the skills needed to pursue a future in the theatre.

DRUMS

All levels of skill and experience are welcome as students learn basic rhythms, counting, and cadences. Classes build on one another and each semester ends with a chance for the class to perform in front of their family and peers.

CHOIR

Students begin with vocal coaching and warmups. They transition to learning how to sing different parts while in a group to performing in front of their peers. Choir puts focus on blending students confidence with their capability and at the end of the semester will celebrate with a concert.

DANCE

A fun class to get kids moving, our instructors teach techniques and routines that allow students to build their confidence and be able to perform at the end of the semester.

94% of Americans believe students should receive an education in the arts in elementary, middle, and high school.

74% of Americans agree that the arts help students perform better academically.

OUR TEAM

implementing the goodness

We wouldn’t be here today without the meeting of two guys who happened to be working for the same Boys & Girls Club. Through multiple conversations and a little bit of time, they dreamt up the reality that is Sparks United. Our founders had a passion to see quality programs provided to the children; programs that challenged them to expand their minds through creative abstract thoughts. Programs that didn’t skimp on excellence and quality due to their location – but ones that carried the belief that every child should have an opportunity to learn from passionate and engaged instructors.

So they made it happen. Sparks United was launched in the summer of 2018 in Gainesville, Georgia with a desire to ignite wonder through the power of the arts in every child possible.

These are our founders.
